Digital travel credentials (DTC), in the near future, will exist alongside ePassports to transform the passenger’s journey from home all the way to their destination. The creation of the DTC will allow sharing of personal travel data in advance of the journey, enabling better security checks and the use of biometrics to support seamless flow of passengers through airports, ports and other travel hubs. The DTC will be fully interoperable under the standards set out by ICAO and deliver security level equivalent or better than the ePassport.
